Rescuing Food. Restoring Dignity. Reducing Waste.

During Ramadan, a season defined by abundance, Yayasan JCorp turned surplus into sustenance through the MYSaveFood initiative.

Across Johor, from Kulai to Muar, this initiative was driven by a clear mission to reduce food waste while ensuring no good food goes to waste. In collaboration with strategic partners, more than 2.5 tonnes of surplus yet consumable food were rescued from Ramadan bazaars and redistributed to asnaf and B40 communities, reaching 3,967 beneficiaries.

At a time when food preparation peaks, MYSaveFood addressed a critical gap, redirecting excess to those in need while reinforcing the importance of responsible consumption and shared environmental responsibility.

To ensure efficiency and accountability, the ReMeal mobile application was utilised to track, categorise, and manage food redistribution in real time, strengthening transparency across the entire process.

This effort was made possible through a collective network of partners and volunteers, including Pertubuhan Pemuda GEMA Malaysia, KPDN Johor, Gerakan Pengguna Siswa, and Johor Corporation Group.

More than just reducing waste, this initiative reflects a deeper commitment to elevating livelihoods, strengthening communities, and building a more sustainable future for all.
